Invitations

I'm contemplating lessons in life at the moment.  Relationships seem to be in the forefront as usual.  Relationships are such wonderful teachers... reflections of our inner status. If each moment comes with a gift, each relationship does as well on a much larger scale.  Each relationship is an invitation to know ourselves better through the reflection of The Other.  It's not to find what's wrong with us or what we need to change or fix, but to observe what it is we're drawing in at this point in our lives.  What kind of people are you meeting?  What are their interests?    Do you see any patterns... artists, musicians, bankers, lawyers, hippies, animal lovers?  Where do your conversations go?  Are you meeting people who are needy or people who are open to give and love? We get to view The Other as a gift and a teacher and offer acceptance of all that they bring to our attention.  Maybe it's not what they represent in your life, but maybe it's what is miss

Accidental Power

Image
I read a post on an Old Souls group today that talked about dreamers and idealists having 'accidental power'.  They don't have to strive for this power.  They don't have to plan it.  They, many times, don't even know they have it.  It's just a part of them. It exists because of the way they view the world... their illusion.  It's full of good people and magic and angels willing to assist at any time. The real power comes when they become aware of it.  Then it can be directed with intention.. beautiful empathic intention. The awakened dreamer's power is no longer accidental, it's intentional and amplified.  Things just fall into place around them.  Others smile. Others agree.  Others trust and feel connection. And so it is.  EE

Making Room

In the spirit of spring, I did some house cleaning recently; man had cardboard collected on my back porch... :)  My attempts at leaf mulching and dumping the mulch on the back garden of ferns last autumn didn't make the leaves go away like I had hoped so I had to burn some of that to allow the ferns to emerge.  I also cleaned my kitchen windows on the outside so I could clearly see the life outside my house when doing the sometimes mundane chore of dishes. Ah, but the finest bit of cleaning I did was with relationships.  I decided to clean out remnants of past relationships that were hanging around, but not completely fulfilling... one actually draining at times.  I gathered the dried flowers I had kept and brought them out to the back garden... I sprinkled the petals on the fern garden and thanked them for their presence.  Then I burned some candles in the space I had them and asked for all the stagnant energy to be removed. I considered it a controlled burn as they do in fie

About the Bowls

Image
I signed up to go to the local convent (hehe - not everyone has a local convent, but I do!   How blessed am I???)  to attend a Tibetan bowls singing session.  I didn't know a thing about the guy who was bringing his collection of bowls or really what the session would be like, but I saw it in the Spirituality Newsletter that the nuns put out and it called to me.  I had to make special arrangements for the kids because I thought it was on a Friday, but it turned out it was on a Thursday, but still I knew I wanted to make the extra effort to be there. I arrived.  I sat RIGHT in the front figuring that would be the best BLAST of tone. :)  I sat and listened to his explanation of how he had collected these bowls.  They had all come from Tibet having been carried over the Himalayas to safety in Nepal.  I listened to the people explain why they chose to come to the session.  Most people were curious and had never heard them before.  I explained that I am a Reiki Master and have had
