Sunday Vinyasa
Having leisurely mornings is something that I am enjoying immensely as of late. Today was no different. I woke up did some correspondence and headed up to my painting project to dot some i's and cross some t's. Of course I got a bit carried away because I couldn't let good paint go to waste and went into the Little One's closet to add some more to her mural... when I returned to my iPod dock, it said it was past the time to get out of the house for Sunday morning yoga! DOH! Plus it's January and it's really full in January.. full of people with great intentions... I'll just leave it at that. :)
I thought, this is the FIRST time I was able to go to this class on a Sunday (with my favorite teacher) and I am going to jet out of here and make it! And I did... BUT I forgot my badge to get in - thankfully you get one 'forget' time and I know the people at the desk so they know I'm legit. WHEW!
I made it... I'm on the mat. It's warm in here... and full! GREAT! Breath is everything. Now breathe. FF to corpse pose... stillness. I'm putting to use my new mantra "She is love". When I hit a relaxed state and my brain stops thinking about relationships and tasks, I see colors in my mind's screen. Today a color came out that is unusual for me... blue. Blue is the color of the throat chakra - your communication, your truth, your expression. I saw blue rolling hills. The colors are always moving so you have to trust the one glimpse you have of the image to know what it is. Today all along the top of the blue and green rolling hills were x's. I think they represented fences. Then one image stopped and let me view it completely... no more rolling hills, but a big flattened x topped with an arch. This was in black and the color in the background was purple - this is my usual color. Purple is either the crown chakra (connection to the divine) or the third eye center (intuition).. I can't decipher between the purple and indigo of these two chakras... it changes and morphs so. I call it both. :)
I recalled having painted images like this earlier in the day, although not in that form... 3 red x's for 3 kisses for my kids and an arch I painted next to the big heart (you can see this above). Who knows if it was connected, but it's cool. :)
Then I talked to my 'fancy dress' friend in the locker room (and asked her her name finally. :)). We bonded over our New Year's events as well as other commonalities we found and I will happily now be able to say her name when I say hello to her the next time I see her! YAY!
Now I smell of coconut because that's the flavor of my gym shampoo. MMM! And I'll be back there again (this time with my badge) to practice for our upcoming performance of 2 hip hop dances at the Cancer Telethon which is 2 weeks from today! YES! I LOVE dancing with my friends! These are the pants (to the right) we wore last year... new ones for this performance (ones that I put on backwards the first time and nearly fell over doing so. :) They have pink ribbon type things hanging from them.)
I'm off to do something with my cowboy caviar left over from last night.... possibly put it in an egg bake. We shall see!
