What do I want to BE? What do I want to DO?

Image
AH HA I just remembered you today - lovely blogita.   It seems I missed 2021 in my blog posts, but here we are in 2022 - so nice and even.  This year is going to have at least one post.  So here goes: Second day post-termination thoughts:  I have so much time!  I could start a project.  I could read The Brothers Karamazov as I have been meaning to do.  I could clean (you can always clean), but that may go against my newer found philosophy of 'It's Better Than it Was'.... which is doing some to mitigate the mess, but not worrying about perfection. I had an interview yesterday.  That was weird.... just the getting up and getting dressed and leaving the house for a work appointment.  I had fun.  I like people.  I got lost.  I talked to the ceiling/heaven.  I laughed.  I used a parable in my answer.  Gees... where did that come from?  Heaven maybe? :) Tis time to shower.... I'm a bit oiled up after a ...

Cycle of Downturns - a Poem

Image
I'm noticing for you because I can feel it. which is kind of the point, You can't. This is where I retreat. I am not here to do your work. What is the loving response? Only you know what's there to transform. This is cycle number three. No change has disrupted the relapse. You are not present. You have receded into hiding. Here I am telling you what you need to do. It feels icky and uneven. Perspectives can be so far apart. I know I can't remain. <3 EE

Needing the Expression

Image
Feeling the need to write down what's present.  Let it be.  Let it out.  Let it snow?  Let it go.  Sigh.  Feeling a sadness.  After all that I have given, here I am and feeling like there's no more compassion and understanding in the relationship.  Maybe it's just not possible. Perspectives:  Each of us has our own and only by our own doing can our perspective change.  One can only be understanding and giving before it becomes exhausting and you must change your approach.  Intentions:  Layers and layers of intention are present in our beliefs and resulting actions.  I'm seeing the intentions as energetic bubbles covered with connecting matrices and moving and lighting them up with color and fire of breath actually changes what can be created. Last night I pulled Magdalen when I gave myself an oracle card reading.  The card read a message about teaching what you came to teach. Experience is a great teacher and...

Online Dating No More

Image
Listen to your body talk:  I arranged a date with man I met on an online dating app.  He was actually more interested in me as an interview preparation helper than a date and he told me that, but I thought, hey I'll help a guy out who said he's feeling scared and sad.  But my body had other intentions.... never made it to that lunch date... I found myself on the couch again unable to move with an aching head and upset stomach.  This happened to me almost identically a week ago when I had planned to have coffee with a different man I met on an online dating site.  This one was actually married and still living with his wife, but online I guess for friends.  I wound up on the couch all day unable to move. Hmmmmm I'm thinking my body is keeping me from these encounters.  SO I removed my profile and I'm back to life sans online dating.  Thanks to my cats who snuggle me on the couch all day long whilst I recover and to Coldplay who ended my nig...

And a Dove Nearly Flew into My Windshield

Image
I love to pay attention to the animal messengers that appear in my life, the usual and the unusual. I know it is support arriving in some form.  I don't always even have to figure out what it means, just that the arrival is there and I am noticing it.  I am aware. So... a tom turkey fluffing out his feathers in an obscured area off the side of a road I frequently travel, a fox walking leisurely close to the side of the road a very short distance from my home, a dove nearly hitting my windshield, and a set of robin wings without a body in the middle of my driveway.  These are unusual. When I am unable to understand some situation in which I find myself, I consult my two favorite Oracle decks;  The Ascended Masters and Kuan Yin - Bodhisattva of Compassion. When I pulled cards for myself (usually 2), I got Master Jesus whose card had the theme of forgiveness and Brigid whose card emphasis was inner strength. I felt the support and cried knowing The River Yan...

Injury as a Portal

Image
I'm almost fully recovered from a neck immobilization.  Oh how lovely it is to have neck movement.  Even washing your hair or putting oil on your face is painful.  It doesn't matter how my pain and immobility arrived, but today I'm observing the lessons it has taught me. So many things are swirling around you in your world.  Child relationships, child health, parent interactions, lover and romantic partner 'dancing', career satisfaction, your contribution to society, dusting and making sure the cat litter is cleaned. ;)  Oh and dishes... there's always dishes! And then you neck stops working and actually doesn't allow you to sleep.  So you stop.  You must.  You are unable to even lay your head down on the pillow without pain.  And there's your portal.  Time is stopped.  You are suspended.  You are given the chance to look deeper into the conditions surrounding the onset and the relief of the discomfort.  In my case...

Simple and Brilliant

Image
I was listening to a cover of Hallelujah by Cohen and found myself contemplating what song is the most covered song.... so I asked google.  I was brought to an article of the top 10 covered songs.  The Beatles hold most of the spots with number one being 'Yesterday'.  One of the songs further down the list was 'And I Love Her'.  I hadn't heard the song in a while so I went to youtube and watched a live version of them playing the song. Simple brilliance.   When I was a college student studying abroad, I went to Pere-Lachaise cemetery outside of Paris mostly because my friend wanted to see Jim Morrison's grave.  But the most moving image I remember from that cemetery is an above ground stone grave box shaped with one vase atop and in the vase; one single yellow rose in a back bend.  Simple and moving.  No name on the grave.  Just a body laid to rest and someone added a single rose. I think of all the things we add to our lives i...

Your Wake

Image
This is not about the celebration of life you have when you pass, but about the wake you leave behind you as you make your way through this life on earth. Think about it... Do you cause disturbances?  Do you cause destruction? Do you leave people scratching their heads?  Do you remain lovingly connected as friends with the lovers from which you part?  Do you uplift and inspire?  Do you leave little wake, make little difference?  Is your exit even felt? As you drive down the road... do little sparkles of magic trail from your tailpipe... blessing and annointing everything behind you?  That's my vision as I drive and as I live.  Pixie dust blessings to ALL! <3  EE

Lessons of Love

Image
Momma Bear Paw Single Mom here... doing my thing, making sure my 3 kids have what they need which sometimes means, mittens/hats/boots delivered to school after children are dropped off, buying ANOTHER pair of pink ballet slippers for program photos because they have gone missing, and running over to Dad's house for that well-loved blanket for snuggling.... AND filling my 'free' weekend up with sleepover birthday parties with far away friends. At first I didn't want to take on the request of a 3 hour drive and a night of having the young ladies keeping me up, but I saw in my daughter's eyes how she really longed to see her friends whom she hadn't seen in months.  Then I decided the planning with the parent (who is a newly married ex-boyfriend) and the time out of my schedule was a service that I would love to do for my daughter. I asked her what she wanted to eat for dinner on Friday night and Saturday morning and what she wanted to do for activities (mov...

Invitations

Image
I'm contemplating lessons in life at the moment.  Relationships seem to be in the forefront as usual.  Relationships are such wonderful teachers... reflections of our inner status. If each moment comes with a gift, each relationship does as well on a much larger scale.  Each relationship is an invitation to know ourselves better through the reflection of The Other.  It's not to find what's wrong with us or what we need to change or fix, but to observe what it is we're drawing in at this point in our lives.  What kind of people are you meeting?  What are their interests?    Do you see any patterns... artists, musicians, bankers, lawyers, hippies, animal lovers?  Where do your conversations go?  Are you meeting people who are needy or people who are open to give and love? We get to view The Other as a gift and a teacher and offer acceptance of all that they bring to our attention.  Maybe it's not what they represent in your lif...

Accidental Power

Image
I read a post on an Old Souls group today that talked about dreamers and idealists having 'accidental power'.  They don't have to strive for this power.  They don't have to plan it.  They, many times, don't even know they have it.  It's just a part of them. It exists because of the way they view the world... their illusion.  It's full of good people and magic and angels willing to assist at any time. The real power comes when they become aware of it.  Then it can be directed with intention.. beautiful empathic intention. The awakened dreamer's power is no longer accidental, it's intentional and amplified.  Things just fall into place around them.  Others smile. Others agree.  Others trust and feel connection. And so it is.  EE

Making Room

Image
In the spirit of spring, I did some house cleaning recently; man had cardboard collected on my back porch... :)  My attempts at leaf mulching and dumping the mulch on the back garden of ferns last autumn didn't make the leaves go away like I had hoped so I had to burn some of that to allow the ferns to emerge.  I also cleaned my kitchen windows on the outside so I could clearly see the life outside my house when doing the sometimes mundane chore of dishes. Ah, but the finest bit of cleaning I did was with relationships.  I decided to clean out remnants of past relationships that were hanging around, but not completely fulfilling... one actually draining at times.  I gathered the dried flowers I had kept and brought them out to the back garden... I sprinkled the petals on the fern garden and thanked them for their presence.  Then I burned some candles in the space I had them and asked for all the stagnant energy to be removed. I considered it a controlled bu...

About the Bowls

Image
I signed up to go to the local convent (hehe - not everyone has a local convent, but I do!   How blessed am I???)  to attend a Tibetan bowls singing session.  I didn't know a thing about the guy who was bringing his collection of bowls or really what the session would be like, but I saw it in the Spirituality Newsletter that the nuns put out and it called to me.  I had to make special arrangements for the kids because I thought it was on a Friday, but it turned out it was on a Thursday, but still I knew I wanted to make the extra effort to be there. I arrived.  I sat RIGHT in the front figuring that would be the best BLAST of tone. :)  I sat and listened to his explanation of how he had collected these bowls.  They had all come from Tibet having been carried over the Himalayas to safety in Nepal.  I listened to the people explain why they chose to come to the session.  Most people were curious and had never heard them before.  I ex...

Sometimes There's Nothing You Can Do

Image
It is what it is.  As a person who believes in my personal ability to provoke positive change, I have to throw my hands up in the air on this one.... write it up to a missed trapeze grab or some planet aligning and then deciding to go back... I have no idea and I don't need to know, but what I do know is that this is nothing I can control. In the end, a person is responsible for their own well-being.  Life is teaching me this in many different lessons.  I smile with gratitude for having learned this lesson and not being attached to some results that I want for a friend.  It's not my vision that is created.  It is theirs and their vision is just lovely. There... I wash my hands!  My time is up.  May you be blessed Darling Soul! EE

Swirling Colors

Image
Last night I read the Wee One a book about a tractor, a little calf and a bull surviving a tornado by the kindness and action of one big-hearted tractor (Otis). :)  That tornado was black and gray and the pictures showed vast destruction after it passed through.  The image of the animals and the tractor gathered together with eyes closed in a low muddy river bed to wait out the storm was beautiful.  Each individual was as close as possible to the group to be safe from the winds above.  The giant bull was next to the small geese and sheep and all looked peaceful wedged between two brown sections of earth. No relation to post, but I LOVED this couple at the Fair. :) Today I had my own tornado of sorts.  My tornado was more of a friendly swirl of bright colors.  This swirl was more about opportunities rather than destruction.  You see there are many things that I want to do in life.  I can't believe all the things that catch my eye and I want t...

Called

Image
“We have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart, and to bring home those who have lost their way.”  ―  Francis of Assisi St. Francis came up for me two times today.  My dentist was talking about her son and husband taking a pilgrimage to Assisi and then I saw an interview about a pilgrimage experience of a well loved spiritual woman to Assisi to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis.  I remembered the story about St. Francis and the wolf and how he loved animals and nature.  He's usually pictured or scuplted with some kind of animal - a bird, a wolf or a sheep. We have been called to heal wounds says he.  He also says  “No one is to be called an enemy, all are your benefactors, and no one does you harm. You have no enemy except yourselves.” . ..  interesting,  Today I'm feeling a shift in a relationship.  I was brought into a person's life to provide some healing for a time, but I believe that time is c...

Anam Cara

Image
The term Anam Cara is a Gaelic/Celtic term meaning soul friend.   We bump into them in various stages of our lives.  They may be siblings (or former siblings :)).  They may be friends.  They may be lovers.  They may be our own children. Sometimes they stick around in your life.  Sometimes their time is limited, but not without impact. I recently ran into an anam cara.  Each one discovered is so unique.  Each connection precious.  It's a feeling of comfort and familiarity.  There's a deep desire to be close to this person.  It doesn't matter his background or his history.  Our hearts are bound. Anam cara.... what a blessing!  Thank you for recognizing me!

To my Dear Cousin as She Awaits the Birth of her First Child

Image
Since your mother is no longer with you on this earth and you have no older sisters, I feel as if I might be the one that can impart to you some wisdom on motherhood before your little one arrives.  I say these words in complete love and reverence of the role of motherhood.  I share my experience with you because I feel like mothers need to be truthful with each other. Before I begin, I share with you a blessing...because we're Irish and Irish folk recite blessings and toasts, but today we're not drinking... we're serious. :)  This blessing is my own.   "May the wisdom, strength and courage of all the mothers that have come before you be instilled in you today and every day as you walk in the footsteps of the mother you are to be.  Know that your love is felt by all children and your hopes, dreams, and tears for your child will help to form their being.  Never is there a more significant role than mother.  You are ready for the joys.  May...

Prayers for Others

Image
A child's response to the expanse of Lake Superior I was reflecting lately about two relatively recent experiences with praying for others... or having intentions for the benefit of others.... one during a visit from some angels and another during a Native American fire and water cleansing ceremony. The angel visit was a 'Pay it Forward' kind of mission that I was asked to do by a friend who was hosting the angels (3 angels of the higher realms) before me.  She asked if I would like to host them as well.... OF COURSE I DO!  I had to let the angels in at 10:30 pm on a certain night (I really could feel them when they entered - like invisible butterflies had entered and were creating waves).  I had to prepare a place for them with a white candle and keep it lit as much as possible.  I was to write 3 requests on a piece of paper and put it near the candle.  They would stay for 5 days and I would make sure the candle was lit and that I tried to spend time near...

The Stork

Balance on one foot... I don't know if I ever really thought about it much until I started practicing yoga.  This has been a journey.  When you first are shown a pose where you are to stand on one leg and do other horizontal things with your body, you wonder how in the world you will ever get to the point of being able to stay there suspended.  But you just keep trying... and slowly over time, you learn how to adjust weight and position your body in alignment to be able to hold the pose and breathe without really thinking about the fact that you're now on one foot and sideways.  What an amazing transformation! And then you are taught patience again when you injure an ankle and try to do this same pose on an ankle that's not at full strength - still swollen from a nasty turn.  If you remember all the little details about the pose that got you into the pose properly on your strong ankle, the pose becomes accessible to you again... you spread out the energy and...
